Today’s proposed question was: “What fruit is evident in your life after you are baptized in the Holy Spirit?”

The fruit of the Sprirt I believe has been so improtant in my life that that Pastor Mel did not discuss on Sunday is patience.
Being in a fast food generation as we are in today, meaning we like everything now and do not want to wait. I have completly needed to change my thought process to get out of this generational thinking, that I need what the Lord has for me right now.
Patience has been a fruit that I have benefited from as a Sprit Filled Christian. I do not know how belivers, with out the fruit of the Sprit, sold out for Christ and walking every moment in his narrow path honestly can do it.
I agree with you Ron, and so did Christ, that’s why He sent us the Holy Spirit, because we CANNOT do it without Him..... Even though it does get hard, one thing that has always blessed me to know is that we suffer because God has something special planned for our lives and it’s a time of molding and reconstruction. I don’t like it, but I know each and every trial that I go through is going to give God the glory somehow. I don’t know how, when, or why, but it will and I will just sit back and allow God to do His thing!
But to the question, I believe Pastor Mel left out power......"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8 - I agree with you PennyPower!!!!
The Spirit filled believer will:
1) Prophesy
2) Charge/Build-up his or her spirit
3) Receive utterance from the Holy Spirit
4) Speak to God-his or her spirit prays
5) Magnify God
6) His/her spirit will pray but..understanding will be unfruitful
7) Speak edification, exhortation & comfor to men
Hey Newbie;
1Cor 14:14 says that your spirit prays but your understanding is unfruitful or un-intelligible. In other words, you cannot understand what you are praying or saying when praying in tongues.....but God can.
Pastor Mel,
I thank God for blessing us with the awesome shepherd that you are.
On Wednesday, you sited Philipians 2:6 from the King James Version: “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God...”
The New International Version states: “Who, being in very nature[a] God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped...”
Is it just me, or do these two translations sound different? Could you maybe shed some more light on this for me? Thank you for your time. God bless you.
