Desiree Ayres knows better than most the incredible transforming power of God.
One of Hollywood’s top stuntwomen, Desiree worked on many hit TV shows until a routine stunt turned into an explosion and she suffered second- and third-degree burns. Then, God miraculously healed Desiree and called her into a life of ministering His love and healing power to others.
Since 1993, Desiree Ayres and her husband Mel have co-pastored In His Presence Church in Woodland Hills, California. Together, they have been reaching the lost and hurting around the world through dynamic worship services, as well as film, TV, theater, and music outreaches – and now through the written word with Desiree’s first book release, God Hunger: Breaking Addictions of Anorexia, Bulimia, and Compulsive Eating (Creation House, 2006).
Desiree has emerged as a champion for those coping with anorexia, bulimia, and compulsive binge eating. According to recent studies, as many as 10 million women and men in America suffer from eating disorders. Desiree herself knows the crippling power of these diseases. For 10 years, she struggled with eating disorders until she was completely healed and delivered by the power of God.

Now, Desiree boldly declares the truth of God’s Word to those in bondage to these devastating disorders. So passionate is Desiree about this subject that she chose to focus on it in God Hunger. In this heartfelt book, she offers information, insights, and plenty of Bible-based inspiration and encouragement to those suffering from eating disorders, as well as their loved ones.
